This hugely popular annual event, held on the village green and in the hall, was well-attended by around 300 hundred visitors.
This year, in addition to the usual fare and stands, the pig roast played host to the 2014 annual gathering of the vintage BSA owners club. About a dozen cars were parked on the green for visitors to admire and discuss with their owners. Of course, the event had a lot more to offer, including the guest of honour - the roasted pig, plenty to drink from the bar, an Indian themed vegetarian offering, book stand, tombola, llamas, raffle and plenty of live musical entertainment. A special and very big thank you to David Browne and James Lacey who worked tirelessly for many months to coordinate everything and who made the event run so smoothly. A big thank you also to all of the people lent their time and efforts before, during and after the event. These include, but are not limited to, Corrine and Gary White, Brian and Fran Herdman, Caroline and David Moysey, Patrick Twist, Janet Cottrill, Richard Pearce, Alex Browne, John and Tina Whitfield, Lloyd Wing, Ann Wilde, and many others that will have slipped our mind at the time of writing. We are awaiting final account figures in order to know how much the event raised in aid of St Peters church and the Rous Lench village hall, but initial estimates are in the vicinity of £1,500 for each.
