![]() Gordon Giltrap, the world-famous and magnificently accomplished guitarist came to Rous Lench village hall for a sell-out show on Sat 14th March. It was the only gig that Gordon played in Worcestershire on his current tour, so given his popularity among fans it was wonderful to welcome many new and first-time visitors to our lovely hall. There were of course many lucky local people who also managed to procure tickets. Gordon Giltrap’s most famous piece of music will be remembered as the theme to the BBC ‘s “Holiday” programme but he has written many more wonderful pieces. The evening was a mix of music and anecdotes from about his touring and playing with other great bands and musicians. A Fladbury pie and pea supper was served in the interval, and word has it that the folks at the Fladbury kitchen truly outdid themselves for us. The bar was open all night, helping to make it a fantastic evening. We feel really proud to have been able to host such a great performer in our village and hope that we acquired many new fans of our venue who will come along and enjoy future shows and events.

A black Labrador was found today (2 March) on the Wychavon Way between Rous Lench and Abberton. He is fit and well if a little dirty. If you think you may know where he calls home, please call Corrine on 01386 793438.
