This ever popular annual event was well attended by 11 teams slugging it out to finish with the best quiz score at the end of the evening. When the final scores were in, it was probably the closest spread ever with the winners finishing only a few points higher then the lowest scoring team. Liz is truly a master at creating fun, competitive, and enjoyable quizes, and we thank her for sharing her wizardry. There were around a dozen entries in the pumpkin carving contest this year, which is slightly down on the numbers from last year, however, the quality of all the carvings this year was truly inspiring. Our three judges, David Lee, Fran Herdman and Gary White, deliberated for a long time before finally deciding the category winners, who were:
Best 8 and under - Emily King
Scariest - Emilie Linfoot
Biggest - Tracy Browne
Most Creative - Mandy Walliman
Funniest - Rosie Whitfield
Congratulations to all the category winners, and a big thankyou to everyone who participated.
David Moysey, our resident chef extraordinaire, produced yet another impressive and most delicious dinner for the approximately 50 people in attendance. While everyone enjoyed their meal Anne Wilde ran a fun raffle to help raise money to cover the heating and electricity costs incurred by the monthly coffee mornings which are held by the church at the Village Hall and are free to attendees.
