The committee was grateful to all the members of the community who attended the AGM, and especially to everyone who registered their availability to assist in the setting up, running, and/or cleaning up at future events. More hands will most definitely make for lighter work.
This was the last meeting of the committee at which Andy Langman participated as a member and as the Village Hall Treasurer. Following 25 immensely fruitful years as our Treasurer, he took the decision to step down in order to focus his time on some other charities and activities that he generously supports. Andy will be sorely missed on the committee; however, we look forward to enjoying his very good company as an attendee at future Village Hall events. The committee also expressed its grateful thanks and best wishes to Phil King and Diane Wicks, both of whom left the committee during the course of the last 12 months. Elections were held for the official positions on the committee, resulting in the following people being elected for the upcoming year: Chair - Brian Herdman Vice-Chair - Darin McLean Treasurer - Corrine White Secretary - Caroline Moysey Additional members of the committee, and their roles, are: Fran Herdman - Booking Secretary Gary White - Health & Safety Officer Anita Perry - Member at large David Browne - Member at large An appeal was made to everyone who attended the meeting, but who hadn't expressed interest in running for office, to consider becoming a "committee member at large". Having lost 3 members of the committee over the last twelve months, there is a real need for a few new members who can bring their perspectives and ideas to the group. Please email rouslench@live.co.uk if you would like to enquire about becoming a member. Following the fairly brief AGM, everyone retired to the bar area to enjoy the fine layout of nibbles and a drink. Here's to the next year, may it be the best one yet.
