The Federation of Family History Societies has a long term plan to record the monumental inscriptions in all the churches and churchyards throughout the country. The Birmingham and Midland Society for Genealogy and Heraldry, as a member of the Federation, is assisting by encouraging their members and other groups within the area to record the memorials in the Midland Counties of Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands.

Those who find a stone that might be relevant to their research should endeavour to examine it for themselves.
