The Lenches WW1 Commemoration Group is looking for enthusiastic volunteers willing to help build a permanent digital legacy from the wealth of material that we have gathered from research we conducted into people from The Lenches (past and present) who have connections to WW1.
We’re open to suggestions as to the best way to do this, but our principal line of thinking is that it should be internet based and easy to grow and evolve. We would also like for it to be easy for members of the community to contribute and add content. A website hosts information about the group and its activities: http://www.thelenches.org.uk/ww1-commemoration.html. We would make this available to anyone wishing to assist us in the project, and can provide technical assistance to help get started using the web development platform on which it runs. The group may also produce an e-book/printed book documenting our activities commemorating the 100th anniversary of WW1. The work would be particularly satisfying for anyone with a penchant for local military/social history, web development/design, writing, book editing, research and/or project planning. Please contact Darin McLean if you would like to talk about getting involved (darin@chafystower.com, 01386 793590).
