To Parents in Church Lench and Atch Lench
Does your child walk to school in Church Lench? Does your child catch the school bus in Church Lench? There is a dangerous bend in the road that runs from Farm Lane up toward the School in Church Lench. It is a blind bend, which cars come racing around, often at speeds that seem to exceed the current speed limit of 30 miles per hour. It is narrow, and only just has room for two cars to pass - carefully, not at speed. It is situated near "Shalom", “Metchley Cottage” and "Ellesmere" (house names). Our concern is that all our children walk around this bend every morning on their way to school, and every evening on their way back home. There is no footpath, and it is, frankly, scary, when it's "rush hour". As a parent, it has concerned us ever since we started walking to school with the children. Even more so since our son started walking to catch the bus, by himself. We know that some other parents are also worried. If you, like us, are worried, and would like to see something done to improve matters, perhaps you would be prepared to telephone the County Council and add your voice to ours. There are several things that could be done to improve safety … we just have to encourage the Council to do something. A phone call to Worcester Hub on 01905 768342 or 0845 6072005 is all that it takes. Ask to speak to someone about a dangerous road in the village, and they will probably put you through to a member of the Highways Team. The more people who speak out, the more likely we will get a favourable response. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Jon and Jenny Fletcher Tel: 871623

Completely agree!! I used to be terrified when my girls walked to the bus stop. It gets no better this end of the village either, I reported this to the local council and were told the children were not allowed to walk on a road without a public footpath! I am still waiting for the Council to inspect this road
