From Reverend Richard...
I have just been told of a rather nasty accident that happened yesterday afternoon to a cyclist going down Hipton Hill. As a result of the tarmac melting there is now a substantial hole in the road that can knock a cyclist off their bike, so either avoid it for the next day or so OR BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL.
The hole is about half way down on the left on the downward slope so I am informed.
Please feel free to pass this message on to any known cyclists.
This was sent out on Sunday 21st July 2013 – I am sure that the road will repaired fairly promptly. So this is only a temporary warning.
