One of the 'significant' village trees, a 160 year old Yew, was getting far too familiar with the structure of its adjacent house and had to be removed by local tree surgeon Roger Small. The tree is now waiting in a lumber yard in Harvington for the not so delicate operation of cutting it into blocks and planks ready for the tender ministrations of local wood turners. If all goes according to plan the fine old tree will return to us in the guise of bowls, bud vases, candle sticks and other generally round wooden objects.
When the wood is sufficiently dry we have been promised a bowl to give away as a prize, watch this page...
A big thank you to the Rous Lench Village hall committee for sharing their calendar with us so that we can include even more village events automatically. We're working on formatting and details but most village events are now listed in one form or another. FOCLS and Sports Club details are being worked on and should not be far
There was a theft last night from Church Lench CE First School. So far we know that all laptops have been taken from the trolley in Class 3, plus a dvd camera and small camera. More details as they arrive.
If anyone heard or saw anything suspicious last night could they please contact the local police or send a message to us and we will relay it.
In the meantime please be extra vigilant with your own properties.
